Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation

United States Coast Guard unit award presented to recognize units or commands that have displayed exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service.

• Eligibility: Units or groups (not individuals) within the Coast Guard, or other military or civilian organizations working directly with the Coast Guard, may receive the award.
• Criteria:
  • Awarded for valorous or meritorious achievement that sets the unit apart from others performing similar missions.
  • Can be given for either combat or non-combat operations.
  • The standard is comparable to that required for an individual to earn the Bronze Star Medal, but applied collectively.
• Timeframe: Recognizes specific actions or sustained performance over a period of time.
