New York State Medal for Merit Ribbon

The New York State Medal for Merit Ribbon is awarded to members of the New York State Organized Militia who have distinguished themselves by exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services. This award recognizes:

• Acts of bravery, heroism, or meritorious achievement.
• Exceptional service that contributes significantly to the state or the military community.
• Actions that reflect great credit upon themselves and the New York State Military Forces.
