New York State Medal of Valor Ribbon

The New York State Medal of Valor Ribbon is awarded to members of the New York State Organized Militia who have distinguished themselves by performing acts of bravery, heroism, or valor in the face of danger. The criteria for this award include:

• Acts of extraordinary heroism and bravery.
• Displaying courage and selflessness in the line of duty.
• Actions that go above and beyond the call of duty and reflect great credit upon themselves and the New York State Military Forces.
